Are you talking of the "Switch role to..." menu? I thought once I click on the button representing the role, the site loads automatically. Same thing back to the normal role.

Independently of that I also have a test account enrolled as Student to properly test the student view. Having only one account and switching role has its limitations.

When you say "if certain countries block Moodle access", what is Moodle in it? Do you mean those countries block sites running Moodle? Where? Inland or abroad?

When I think of the Great Bamboo Wall of China, I imagine something very sophisticated. Filtering based on the domain names and IP ranges are the minimum. They must be doing content filtering too. I heard that they are allergic to a certain nickname of the president of the country. ;) The software running those sites are also relevant, but I think they look for software that allows to share content anonymously apart from the dark web and other illegal operations than at educational platform like Moodle, which in its core knows only the usual SSL encryption (HTTPS).

I would say people in the Security and privacy forum know better.

Are you familiar with the various approaches Moodle supports in serving multi-lingual content? The languages forum is dedicated to that subject.

If I understand you correctly, you want to offer three sites, say en.example.com, de.example.com and es.example.com, each offering courses in the designated language. If so, they are three mono-lingual sites - not _a_ tri-lingual site.

Nothing wrong in doing that, but if those three have to be one Moodle instance - same code tree, same database and same moodledata, then you are entering the realm of multi-tenancy. That is an entirely different subject. The Moodle core doesn't support multi-tenancy. Your alternatives are Moodle Workplace and IOMAD.
