The results are really fascinating: I hadn't realised so many question types were possible. I really must get over my reluctance to using Quiz which I tend to see as a tool for testing rather than one for learning. I wonder though if the fact that most teachers (87%) use either multichoice or truefalse means that it is mainly being used for testing.

I don't know what Capacities are either but I do know how to fix the problem in Moodle 1.9.
Log on as admin,
And change "Unsubscribe users from courses after" to Never.

I'm not 100% sure for Moodle 2, but in Moodle 1.9 normally only admins can delete courses. As a teacher, I'm glad I can't easily delete courses - it can be very dangerous. In the past, I've thought I'd made a backup and then found I couldn't restore it - so a lot of work lost.
I'm not sure either that it's possible to give people just the permission to delete just their own courses.
Hope someone more techie can give you more info.
