Edwiser Course Formats plugin comes with two different layouts for your courses.

The List Format is one of the simplest course formats you can come across. Using this format, you can list your course sections & activities in the form of lists. This format is minimalistic in design, with an option to collapse/expand course sections. The collapsible nature of List format completely removes any scope of endless scrolling across courses.

Card Format is another standout course format in the offering. Edwiser Card Format displays your course sections & activities neatly stacked as cards on your course page. This format is pleasing to the eye and also highly functional.

Edwiser Course Formats plugin comes packed with the following features

  • With List Format, you can choose between showing all sections on a single page and showing one section per page.

  • Card Format also renders all the activities from the section in the card format.

    We are glad to assist you Dinis!
    Regarding the image, we saw the 2 queries which you had mentioned, answering those,
    1 - Can this image (background) be changed?
    --> Yes, this image can be changed from Edit Course Settings -> 'Course Format' section -> 'Choose a course image' field;

    2 - The language in course is Portuguese (PT-PT) and the type of activity or resource is in English.
    --> This issue will be soon resolved in the next update of this plugin.

    Let us know, if you have any other queries.

    I like like this format so far, thank you for this contribution!

    I have a problem when trying to add new activities when using IE / Edge, only Chrome seems to work. The button to add new activites wont show the modal Window in IE / Edge.
    Can you check that please? Thank you smile

    Hi @Edwiser Team,
    can I disable the "+ Show full summary" / "Show less" toggle on the Card format course page?
    Alternatively, can I set the styling to show the full summary by default?
    Alternatively, can I adjust the height of the div?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Shane,

    Here is a custom CSS using which you could disable "Show Less" toggle on the Card Course Layout.
    .fadeout-summary {
    display: none !important;

    .read-more-target {
    height: auto;
    overflow: unset;

    .read-more-state ~ .read-more-trigger:before,
    .read-more-state:checked ~ .read-more-trigger:before {
    content: none !important;

    This should work do let us know if otherwise.

    I am enjoying the course format, however we are experiencing an issue with the course image.

    When one user uploads and saves a new course image, it doesn't appear in the file manager when another user is editing the course settings.
    This is resulting in other users accidentally removing the course image as they change a separate course settings, as it results in saving a blank image.

    For now we have had to limit course editing to only a single user (unless we have somehow configured it wrong 😬), however if this is a bug and can be fixed it'd be greatly appreciated.

    The summary button it pulls what by default?

    Is it possible to choose what will appear when pressing the summary button?

    Hi Hellen,

    We believe right now when someone clicks on "Summary Button" we display the description that's part of the "Course Description" section within the course.

    Could you tell us what you would like to see there as an improvement?

    In a previous discussion, you gave a css code to hide "show less". Where do I have to insert this code to be able to use it? Thank you for your help, and especially for your work.
