This plugin adds a link in the administration block to allow for the exporting of book module content as an EPUB v3.0
You can include a cover photo and metadata for an ePUB export by using the 'Edit Settings' link. In the description fields, upload an image (jpg or png) and include the following labels. NOTE that these must be in a separate pargraph (usually created by hitting the enter key):
- author: Firstname Lastname
- title: Title of the book
- description: A description of the book
- publisher: The ePUB publisher (defaults to author)

Many thanks for contributing to the Moodle plugins directory.
You may have looked at the plugins bot message. Although not absolutely necessary, I would recommend you to have a look at the errors if thats something you can get rid of , it would be great !
Well done on getting the Useful links section completed. Its much appreciated !
I tried installing the plugin on a local 2.8 and seems to have installed fine. I followed the instructions listed above and also on the github page and I cant seem to get the book cover ( jpg) to show up when export the book using your plugin.
Something that you could check on your end to make sure its working fine and also include a screenshot of it if possible.
At the moment I am going to mark is as needs more work until that issue is resolved.
Many thanks,
Hittesh
Thanks Richard for sharing this plugin with the community. And thanks Hittesh for providing the peer-review! Richard, I made a new component for you in the tracker and set it as the bug tracker for your plugin. I used it to report some coding related issues spotted while reviewing the plugin.
I can confirm Hittesh findings - the PNG image embedded into the book description did not turn into a frontpage image of the EPUB (eventually, my EPUB reader does not display it, I don't know).
Also, I noticed that the capability
booktool/epubexport:export
is not granted to anybody by default. Is that intentional? I would expect that both teacher and student archetype roles have it granted. However, none of these issues are real blockers for approval and I believe Richard will look at them soon. I am happy to approve the plugin now, welcome to the plugins directory!
