I've just submitted a new plugin that allows you to create an EPUB v3 from the content of a book module. The code is available from GitHub.
Loved your presentation on this at iMoot! Am currently (and it's long overdue!) working my way through some Github for Dummies-style information, and as soon as I've internalised all that, I'll be checking it out properly!
All the best
Thanks Richard. I also enjoyed the iMoot presentation, and its good to see the mod released.
Thanks Justin, it's appreciated.
Awesome! I love it
Cheers Bas, I've responded to your issue on GitHub. If possible, it would be really good for me to have a copy of the book that is causing you problems.
Great tool that I've needed for years. Thanks for releasing it. I've already used it in both Moodle 2.8.6+ and Moodle 2.9+ without any problems, so far.
If possible, I would recommend that you add explicit directions to the readme file telling where to install this tool. Even as experienced as I am am, it took me a couple of minutes to figure out that the book resource has a tool folder and that this needs to be placed there with it's folder name shortened to just epubexport.
@Justin Hunt, I think this tool might be a good way to allow for easily sharing settings for your Generico and Video Easy filters. I've already started making a book with mine in it. The generated epub should be a small enough file for uploading right here in the news forums without hitting the file size limit.
Forgot to mention...when making a book listing Generico filter settings, the Algebra filter setting for the book will need to be turned off. Otherwise, the double @ symbols will not be seen as they trigger the Algebra filter into action.
Thanks AL, I have actually submitted it to Moodle for inclusion on the moodle.org site, which would make installation more straightforward.
However, I accept your point about installation. Personally, I'd advise people to download the files, rename the folder to epubexport and zip it again. You could then use the Install plugins link in the Site Administration block. I'll add it to the README.
Out of interest, can anyone else see the epubexport plugin page while it is waiting for approval, or is it just me?

Just you (as opposed to "Just H" )
Hello there. I think until it's approved, it's not visible to regular users ;)
Just you till its approved. Thats where GitHub comes in handy... again. You can point people there until its approved (which you did). And you can start getting feedback before your plugin really goes live. Sometimes you'll catch a bad bug just in time!
Thanks everyone. Just had an email from the plugins bot, which has found 232 coding style problems and 3 PHPDocs style problems, so it might be a while before it appears!
Luckily, most of these are things like not leaving a space either side of => !
