GISMO
GISMO is a graphical interactive monitoring tool that provides useful visualization of students' activities in online courses to instructors. With GISMO instructors can examine various aspects of distance students, such as the attendance to courses, reading of materials, submission of assignments. Users of the popular learning management system Moodle may benefit from GISMO for their teaching activities. With respect to the standard reports provided by Moodle (which basically allow teachers to see if an individual student has viewed a specific resource or participated on a specific activity on a specific day), GISMO provides comprehensive visualizations that gives an overview of the whole class, not only a specific student or a particular resource. With GISMO, instructors can perform analysis of the whole class, and may have a "clear picture" of what the class is doing, or has done in a period in the past.
When a student is graded his/her assign submission appears in the graph.
I'm confused because the Help page says: "On the X-axis we mapped the assignments (or quizzes in the graphs dedicated to quizzes) and marks denote students submissions. An empty square means a submission not graded ..."
If the student made a submission, then the graph should have an empty square? How can I see this?
Anyone know how to distribute this block to a whole category or a whole site when it is not shown as available as a block on the frontpage
Thanks
Are you planning to soon wear your very useful plugin to Moodle 2.9 and 3.0?
Thank you for your response.

I can't find your plugin for Moodle 2.9 and 3.0, is your plugin still maintained ?
Thanks for your feedback
Best regards
Emilie
I'm working on it right now, if you want you can download the lastest version (still testing) here: https://bitbucket.org/steveorulez/block_gismo
Anyone that could test and let me know is welcome
so far I tested it on 2.9 and 3.0 without problems
I tested on my local Bitnami Moodle 3.0, but i get :
Validating block_gismo ... Error
[Error] Unable to extract all files [Attempting to extract file gismo/lib/third_parties/client_side/jqplot.1.0.8r1250/plugins/jqplot.BezierCurveRenderer.min.js resulted in error 'Can not write target file'.]
Installation aborted due to validation failure
how did you download the code? using git or directly from the site? i just deleted ll the jqplot1.0.8 files since they are not used anymore, i updated the library to 1.0.9
I downloaded it directly from the site : https://bitbucket.org/steveorulez/block_gismo/downloads
I get this error :
Validating block_gismo ... Error
[Error] Unable to extract all files [Attempting to extract file gismo/lib/third_parties/client_side/jquery-ui-1.10.3/css/ui-darkness/images/animated-overlay.gif resulted in error 'Can not write target file'.]
Installation aborted due to validation failure
thanks

Gismo block do not shows up on student account - I've checked the View block Permissions. We are using Moodle 3.1. Please advise.
Thanks
I have tried to get gismo working on out 3.1.3+ installation and it sits there spinning and never loads up the charts.( i manually forced the exported)
I'm doing this as an admin user.
Any ideas on how i can get this to work? Or if you will be updating the code to support newer versions of moodle?
