GISMO is a graphical interactive monitoring tool that provides useful visualization of students' activities in online courses to instructors. With GISMO instructors can examine various aspects of distance students, such as the attendance to courses, reading of materials, submission of assignments. Users of the popular learning management system Moodle may benefit from GISMO for their teaching activities. With respect to the standard reports provided by Moodle (which basically allow teachers to see if an individual student has viewed a specific resource or participated on a specific activity on a specific day), GISMO provides comprehensive visualizations that gives an overview of the whole class, not only a specific student or a particular resource. With GISMO, instructors can perform analysis of the whole class, and may have a "clear picture" of what the class is doing, or has done in a period in the past.

    Hi Yvonne, that's correct

When a student is graded his/her assign submission appears in the graph.

I'm confused because the Help page says: "On the X-axis we mapped the assignments (or quizzes in the graphs dedicated to quizzes) and marks denote students submissions. An empty square means a submission not graded ..."

If the student made a submission, then the graph should have an empty square? How can I see this?

Allowing Gismo to be installed site wide through the frontpage. There does not appear to have been any movement on this functionality http://sourceforge.net/p/gismo/tickets/5/

Anyone know how to distribute this block to a whole category or a whole site when it is not shown as available as a block on the frontpage

I am using Moodle 3.0 and I added the Gismo block to a course, after which I was should this message "Error reading from database ". From this point on every time I try to access this course I get the same error, although all other courses are working fine. What can I do to deal with this issue?

Hi, I'm currently running a Moodle 2.9.3+ site and planning to update it to Moodle 3 or 3.1 (sometime in the future), and i would love to have your plugin installed. I do, however, have a question: have you tested in a Moodle 3+ environment?

    Thanks

    Hi There,
I have tried to get gismo working on out 3.1.3+ installation and it sits there spinning and never loads up the charts.( i manually forced the exported)
I'm doing this as an admin user.

Any ideas on how i can get this to work? Or if you will be updating the code to support newer versions of moodle?
