This Atto editor plugin makes it much easier to use the embed questions filter.

Therefore, all the documentation is with the filter plugin.

Note that as Moodle Core has now moved to TinyMCE, the June 2025 release is the final version of the Atto/M4.5 plugin that we will release.

@Tim Hunt Any plans to port this to Tiny6 and support for 4.3+ We are very interested in exploring embedded question and perhaps contribute to some improvements.

Hi @Neil, we have a TinyMCE version in approval at the moment (https://moodle.org/plugins/tiny_embedquestion). So I assume that'll appear soon.

Hi guys @timhunt and @chrisnelson, i have moodle 4.5 installed and need your plugin. But it neither works with ATTO editor nor with tinyMCE. I get an error within the tinyMCE about this line in JS, because this element is not defined: iframeDescription=document.getElementById("id_iframedescription").value; And in the atto editor, i do not get any update from my editor content after clicking the button. not even an error message.

Are you aware of these incompabilities? Or is just my configuration false? Do i need some extra php-extension to be added or something? 'cause i actually see no errors with atto...

    Hello Danou,

We have both the Atto and TinyMCE versions working on our Moodle 4.5 test system. We're working on getting the latest version of our code published to the Moodle plugin database at the moment.

My only thought is is the other plugins (filter and progress) haven't yet been installed: https://moodle.org/plugins/browse.php?list=set&id=95

    Hi
Please can you change your supported version to moodle 4.5 or 5 so that when we install moodle each week, it auto installs, this would save a lot of time. Thank you.

@Al Metcalfe: a new version will be submitted soon. As Moodle Core no longer supports Atto, the M4.5 Atto version will be the last supported version we publish.

That is fine, we are going to move to 5 and will use Tiny, but currently we are on 4.5 for a while so it would be appreciated. Cheers.
