Hello. I'm not sure what you mean by "free educational materials" - if you mean, resources other teachers such as Social Studies teachers have made available to be used for free by the community I am sure a google search will come up with loads - as fo base/template/prototype well Moodle gives you a wide range of different ways to present your materials so I suggest you get in there and practise -when you see what you can do already yourself with your own resources you might better see how you can complement them with others'. smile

Are you in Moodle as a teacher site wide as well as admin? It is possible in changing the system roles for teachers you might have downgraded yourself to a teacher on the front page and lost your admin rights. Is there another admin who can login and check this for you? Could you state exactly what changes you made to the teacher role?

It depends what type of "test" you mean. You could set up a questionnaire for example (non standard questionnaire module or even non-standard feebdack module) and set them to allow guests to complete - and put some questions in there. You can also make a HotPotatoes quiz and put that in the site files of the front page and allow guests to complete that - their scores won't show up in a mark book however, but if it is just to give them a taster then that's a possiblity. Off hand I don't think you can make a Moodle quiz available to guests however.

Go to the course where you want the quiz and in course administration click "Import" You'll then be presented with a selection of courses including the front page to import from -when you choose it you will then be offered the list of activities to import. Just select the quiz and go ahead and import into the new course. When it is done , you can then go back and delete from the front page.
