Thanks a lot for the warning. I already downloaded the course and restored it in to a test site. (There is no "live" version of it, as far as i could see.)

The key question is, whether those Office 365 accounts are "new" accounts or whether they querry your AD via AD FS.

N.B. I don't know the technical details behind AD FS and in the dark myself: https://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=357744.
