Could you please re-formulate your question with more step-by-step details?
Something like:
1.- Teacher created a questionnaire with questions numbered 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc. The questions were of xxx type(s).
2.- Students answered the questionnaire.
3.- Then teacher decided to delete one question (I do not understand what you mean by "a partial question")
4.- Then, etc.
Anyway, since the teacher admits he made a wrong manipulation ("an incorrect line break", whatever that means), it is most unlikely that we can reproduce the problem and find a solution.

Hi Marcus,
Just a suggestion in case you have some free time left.

In the Add Gap Settings section, specific distractors to the currently edited gap could be added in a 3rd (text-only) field. See attached mock screen.

By the way, in Gapfill, the Distractors field should be text-only, not the full text editor, which does not make sense here.

And in the Add Gap Settings section, the 2 fields are missing the labels : Correct feedback / Incorrect feedback.
