Chinese is one of the languages I would most like to see added.

(I assume you mean Simplified Chinese)

All you need to do is :

• install Moodle somewhere on your own machine,
  
• look in the lang directory, and make a copy of the folder "en" ... name it "zh_cn". Make sure all the files in that folder are writable.
  
• Now you can use the built-in Moodle translation tools (Admin -> Check Language -> Edit language) to edit Chinese phrases.

The files you sent me look fine.

I think I know what's happening ... are you opening them using Notepad on a Windows system?

These files are all in Unix text format ... you should get a text editor that can read Unix format text files. eg:

The text files aren't corrupted and will work fine when you access them as web pages from your browser ...

I notice the others are no longer subscribed here, and I haven't received any files yet from anyone, so maybe you want to start it off?

Unfortunately I can't duplicate the problem (don't have a Japanese system) ... can you find any clues about exactly what on that page is causing the error?

Does the editor work fine otherwise?

If you can't solve this you can always switch the fancy editor off in your profile settings.

I've checked in changes to allow resubmission after grading (it's a new option).  It's in CVS and latest nightly if you want to check it out.

If your students are keen, perhaps they can think about a slick new layout of the assignment view page, which is getting pretty ugly.  I'm all designed-out today.  eg:
