Can I use moodle to offer a fully automated / hands free / asynchronous course?

Can I use moodle to offer a fully automated / hands free / asynchronous course?

Hi,
I'm new here - nice to meet you all.

I'm considering using moodle to setup a fully automated / hands free / asynchronous course so that student will be able to take a course and go through all the course without any teacher to check assignments or something like that.

The course should be in a preset time line - so there will be a place to set the pace / time frame for each part of the course to be available to the student  based on his registration date and maybe also have a way to allow students to have the next part of the course to be available as soon as he pass the exam for the previous part.

Do you think moodle is the right system to do so?

Also - Is there any step by step course to learn moodle from scratch - preferably a Asynchronous course in the moodle system so I can learn how to use the moodle system and also get inspired and see such a course I want to build in real action?

Thanks and regards,
Ram

Yes. But it might take some learning and a lot depends upon the activities that you want to use.  I don't do this myself, but others here might be able to guide you.

Hi,
Thanks.

I guess that the main issue here is how to set the system to each course will be timelined to the registration date per student.
So if a student registered to day - there will be a way to select the interval for the next course unit to be open for him, while when another student that will register tomorrow will have a different date.

If there is someone who use moodle in such a way - I would love to know how can I set such a thing up.

Thanks and regards,
Ram

If you haven't done this yet, consider installing a sandbox moodle and begin experimenting.
