Allow Students to Auto-Subscribe to All Forums

Is there a way to allow students to subscribe to all forums in a class? At present, it seems that each forum needs to be subscribed to manually or via auto-subscription following a post. This means that when a new forum is created, students are not notified about it until they manually log in and go hunting around for updates.

Any help would be appreciated on this.

Interesting question. I believe that in my Moodle, students are automatically subscribed until they unsubscribe. I believe this is controlled by the forum setting that I show below.

There isn't a one click "subscribe all" option.

You can set your forums to be auto-subscription by default though.

The options for the subscription mode are:

Optional - not currently subscribed but can opt in
Auto - subscribed initially, but can opt out
Forced - subscribed whether you want it or not
Disabled - not subscribed (and never will have the option to be)

You can also go the forum index page in any course which gives a nice summary of all the forums and allows subscription and digest changes - eg. https://yourmoodle/mod/forum/index.php?id=2 where 2 is the COURSE id.
