Auto Enroll in a Course dependent on other course completions

Auto Enroll in a Course dependent on other course completions

Hi all,

I'm trying to come up with a solution to this. We have one moodle instance that has multiple courses. We have one course that is meant to be "unlocked" after students have completed the previous courses. This final course contains a course evaluation and custom certificate.

We have the auto enrollment plugin on the other courses so that teachers do not need to approve enrollments. However, because we want the course evaluation & certificate to be dependent on the other course completions, we do not want active auto enroll for that course.

I'm trying the Course completed enrolment plugin (moodle site seems to be having some issues at the moment), but I'm noticing that it doesn't seem to "automatically enroll" the students into the course - the teacher would still need to approve.

I'm not too familiar with learning plans or groupings, would this be an easier/more reliable way to achieve this?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Learning plans are not for enrollment. Learning plans "track" competencies that are awarded for activity/course completions.

Did you research if cohort sync could be a possible solution?

Thanks Shirley! I did not yet. There are so many options that I wasn't sure where to look first. The caveat is that the client wants students to go through the courses as "automatically" as possible, meaning the managers of the courses want to spend the least amount of time managing the courses (meaning approving enrollment, etc). The only management they want is pulling reports.

If they have to, they will have to as that's how Moodle is designed as I understand it? But, if there are options that I'm not aware of, I just thought to ask.

Thanks again!
