Infinite Loop when Clicking Notifications Link

Once I click site administration > notifications, I get an infinite loop. I'm using Moodle 3.3.

Here is a screen shot of what I get when I turn the debugger on:

I would really appreciate your help.

Thank you!

I would start by checking your date.timezone setting in php.ini - see, http://php.net/manual/en/timezones.php

It sounds like it may have been set incorrectly.

Apparently there was no date.timezone in php.ini, but I set it in the moodle site, and error is gone, but that didnt solve my redirect problem.

So now the error regarding the timezone is gone, what are you seeing? Is there a new error that comes up, or does it just state "This page should automatically redirect"?

It might also be a good idea to check your webservers error_log to see if anything is pushed there.

No further errors are shown, just that this page should automatically redirect. I also checked error_log. There is nothing from today. Last entry in there related to the timezone which is fixed now.

The page I should be redirected to is: admin/upgradesettings.php

Try clearing caches. From command line...

php admin/cli/purge_caches.php

I dont have command line access to the server, but I did it from the site. That didnt fix it either.

Go to your moodledata folder (not the moodle code folder) and delete the cache and localcache folders.  They will recreate.  Then, clear the cache on your browser and try again.

Looks like the issue is fixed. Not sure how, but I repeated all suggestions and one of them worked for me.
