Release 1.1 Moodle 4.5, 5.0 (https://moodle.org/plugins/tiny_embedquestion/1.1/31679 ): Why is the release date: Monday, 15 April 2024, 5:01 PM ? Today (September 4th, 2025) is the first time my Moodle 4.5 has received an upgrade notification? (I've had the Github version installed so far). I suspect the posted update on the Moodle plugins site is NOT the latest available release? Hmm.

We had the embedquestion plugin for the atto installed on Moodle 4.x. Since we updated to Moodle 5.0.2, the atto is no longer available. Now I've installed the Tiny plugin. On the test instance, I created a question category with an ID and, for testing, created a question with an ID, as was previously required. The filter is active, and the plugin is integrated in Tiny. Now, for example, if I want to embed a question in a text field or text page, the selection page appears, but I have no options for the question category or question.

We have recently released a TinyMCE 'embed questions' plugin. However, your question relates to https://moodle.org/plugins/filter_embedquestion.
As you can see there, our latest release was in May for Moodle 4.4/4.5.

We have almost finished working on a version of Embedded Questions for M5.0, which has required significant rework due to Moodle Core's changes to how Question Banks work. I unfortuantly can't give a timescale, only that we hope to review the code next week (although many of our developers are attending the Global Moodle Moot).

Could we do something about the https://moodle.org/plugins/tiny_embedquestion/1.1/31679 release ? The zip file is not the 1.1 version but 1.0 - the link needs fixing.

We are also working on the issue; we're not sure exactly what happened, but we hope to have a version working as expected with a contemporary date shortly.

Le plugin embedquestion pour l'interface utilisateur graphique (ATTO) était installé sur Moodle 4.x. Depuis la mise à jour vers Moodle 5.0.2, l'ATTO n'est plus disponible. J'ai maintenant installé le plugin Tiny. Dans l'instance de test, j'ai créé une catégorie de questions avec un identifiant et, pour tester, j'ai créé une question avec un identifiant, comme c'était requis auparavant. Le filtre est actif et le plugin est intégré à Tiny. Désormais, par exemple, si je souhaite intégrer une question dans un champ ou une page de texte, la page de sélection s'affiche, mais je n'ai pas d'options pour la catégorie de questions ou la question.

Yes, because you are using Moodle 5.0.x, and Moodle Core has made changes to how question banks work. As I say above, we are working on releasing a Moodle 5-compatible version of Embedded Questions. It's currently in review.

Wir haben moodle auf Version 4.5.6+ upgedated, das filter_embedquestion Plugin 4.3 für moodle 4.4,/4.5 installiert und das tiny_emedqeustion Plugin 2025082700 (1.1) von Git heruntergeladen und installiert (https://github.com/moodleou/moodle-tiny_embedquestion). Man kann aber trotzdem im TinyMCE Editor keine Kategorie und Frage auswählen, obwohl IDs vergeben wurden (gleicher Fehler wie bei den anderen Usern oben). Wird es ein funktionierendes Plugin auch für 4.5.6+ geben oder nur für 5.0.x?

@Gerd Weinzierl, OK, that is a bug as it should definitely be working for Moodle 4.5.x (as it is for us). As I've said above, Embedded Questions does not work for Moodle 5.0.x, but we are close to releasing a version that does.

So for this specific Moodle 4.5.x case, please could you check that you have set both a question ID and a category ID, and then raise a GitHub ticket and add more details so that we can investigate.
