    Hi. I have some students that could not found a group with their friends. I want to randomly organize them in groups. Is there a convenient way to: a) show a list of yet un-grouped students and, b) auto-create groups for these students. Currently, I have only found a way to list self-grouped students and auto-group/re-group already self-grouped students.

    @Dmitry
    a) You can use the participants page and filter for Group:no groups
    b) I think you could use the Auto-create groups feature of moodle for this.

    Hi! I really love the plugin, but I don't know why the password field is not showing when a student tries to create a group. Can you help?

    We fixed some bugs and made some smaller but usefull improvements. Eg. we now support the timeline overview in moodle or it is possible to create more than one group for students https://vidmate.ooo/.

    When using group self-selection as a student role holder, the student cannot see the list of student members who have already signed up for a group (as per screenshot #5). Is there any way to address this so that the student role holder can see who are signed up in the groups before they make their selection? For example, are there any permission settings that can be changed for the student role?

    Many thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Roger,

    I just wondering if you would be able to include a switch to enable the group chat setting for Moodle 3.6?

    Kind regards,

    Adam

    @ Roger Barras - Yes I would like it so that students cannot see any students in other groups, which I know is easy using separate groups, but I also don't want them to know who in their group when selecting. This way there is no outside influence on their choice, they can pick what they want not what their friends have already chosen.

    @ Roger Barras - Can you add an option in the settings to hide the Members column?

    Hi yes I will do further tests in February to ensure that it is working properly for version 3.7 and 3.8, but it seems there is no issue so far for those moodle versions. Some new further are planned but not sure yet, what will be inlcuded in the next version.

    We have version 3.14 of this plugin installed on moodle 3.3 version. Can you clarify whether student's should be able to see the other members of the group in the members list rather than 'members not available' please. If they should, how do we enable this, thanks.

    Hi Sara, it depends how your activity is set up. Separate groups means, that members of other groups are not visible in that activity for the students. This is a basic moodle feature for all activities. You could find this under "common moduel settings" as "group mode". But yes member of the own group should be always visible.

    thanks Roger. I've tried it with group mode, 'no group', 'separate group' and 'visible groups' but the members names still don't show to students. Is there a permission they need to see them?

    Hi Sara another reason might be the capabilies of "course:viewparticipants" are set to "no" for the students or the role of the students. Check this under user persission of the course or set it global as a moodle admin. The plugin is checking this property for visability of the group members.
