Blocks: Repository File Manager

Maintained by Me ! Tim Williams
This block contains a Moodle 2.x re-write of the Moodle 1.x file manager.

Moodle 2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.6, 2.7, 2.8
The primary purpose of this block is to provide file management capabilities for the 'Course files area' repository. However, this block is also capable of interfacing with the Moodle 2.x Files API to provide limited file browsing capabilities for some other repository types. It is hoped to further develop the management capabilities so that files held in other repository types can be managed through this block.

Please check our website for the latest plugin releases.

Hi Michael, our website was recently re-organised, so I think that particular link slipped through the net. The plugin is still being maintained and a Moodle 2.7 release will happen in due course, although the chances are that the current release will work in 2.7, so I suggest you give it a try. Let me know if you have any problems.

    Kind regards, Tim W

The 2014030801 works OK on Moodle 2.7, so I've updated the supported Moodle versions for the existing release rather than adding a new version.

Hi Monica, I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do, could you explain the procedure you are trying to follow in more detail?

Hi all, I'm moving to Moodle 2.8 but released the latest version of Blocks: File Repository Manager is for Moodle 2.7, you know if the last version released from Blocks: Repository File Manager works correctly in Moodle 2.8?

Hi Yenin, I still use this plugin on my own sites, so it is still developed. I've not had time to check it on Moodle 2.8 yet, this will happen at some point but I can't give you a time scale (I've got far too much other work on at the moment). The chances are that it will work on Moodle 2.8, so I suggest you give it a go on a test site before deploying.

No matter the moodle and php file limits, I always get this error when trying to upload a file:
Uploaded file {$a} exceeded the maximum size limit set by the form

The problem was not present when we first installed the plugin. Since then we changed many moodle configuration parameters, but we can't figure out wich one is causing the problem. Any help would be appreciated

I finally managed to fix the problem. In function upload_print_form_fragment_old, I modified this line:

    $str = etc... "input type="hidden" name="MAX_FILE_SIZE" value="'. $maxbytes etc

    like this:

The value of $maxbytes was very high (as expected due to our moodle configurations) but it caused the problem anyway. This should not cause problems since in our site this block is meant for admins only.

Jarosław, this plugin hasn't yet been validated for Moodle 3.0, my plugins for paying customers come first. If you want to get this to install in the interim, add:

    $plugin->component = "block_repo_filemanager";

    To version.php.

Hello, A version for Moodle 3.1 will be released in due course, however I have a very busy schedule at the moment and I can't say when I'm going to get to this at the moment.

In moodle 2.9 in the execution of the plugin do not appear the buttons to the foot like the actions in each line.
I use ubuntu 16.04 and probe with firefox chrome.
Any information to correct such problem will be very useful.
    Thank you!!

    Hi Marcelo,

Could you provide a bit more information, I'm not sure I understand what the problem is. Also are you on Firefox, Chrome or both, your message is not clear on this point.

For reference you also need the Course Files Area repository plugin installed and active for this block to be of use, if you don't have this installed don't expect it to do much. The management capabilities only work for files stored in the Course Files Area, everything else is "browse only" so there will be no action buttons.
