Kaltura's Video Package for Moodle 2.x makes it easy to add the robust capabilities of Kaltura's open
source online video platform to any Moodle site. The package was developed specifically for Moodle
and integrates with other features and modules, such as resources and activities, so that users can
upload and embed media easily.

The package adds the following features for all users:

* My Media: users’ personal media gallery, for uploading, viewing, managing, and sharing media

* Create screen recordings and use them in the Kaltura activities

* Integration as an external repository with the file picker accessible from the text editor: embed your media or media you have access to, anywhere you can author text

In addition, Teachers and Admins have the following features available:

* Video Resource activity: Easily add video content to your course as a specialized resource

* Video Presentation activity: Create a synchronized view of a Document and a Video

* Video Assignment activity: Allows students to submit videos as an assignment submission

* View engagement reports for videos used on your course

Version information:

Please take note of the version of Moodle you have and the version of the plug-in you are installing. The Download page states which version of Moodle the version of the plug-in is for.

Version information example: Kaltura release 3.0.96 (RL: 2.5.1.1)

3.0.96 is the version of the plug-in that Kaltura has release. It does not correspond to any Moodle version number and it should be referenced when contacting Kaltura support.

RL: 2.5.1.1 is our internal version. The first two points (2.5) correspond to the version of Moodle that it has been tested with (Moodle 2.5.x).

    Hello
The plugin name is "Kaltura release 4.0.07 for Moodle 2.9 (2015091609)" but... it's works only for Kaltura version 4? Because I'm working with Kaltura CE 9.19 and I don't know if its works and if the release 4.0.07 it's about the plugin or about Kaltura.
    Thanks

    Hello,

We are just enabling the Kaltura plugin at the University of Illinois. The one thing that I notice is that the plugin uses a separate module for the Kaltura Media Assignment. This is the way that assignments used to work in Moodle, but there have been updates since version 2.2. Are there plans to integrate the Kaltura Media Assignment as a submission type in the regular Moodle assignment module. This would make the Kaltura plugin work more in line with how other things work in Moodle.

    Thanks,

    Geoff Brewster

    Hi Lale,

We will be happy to get pull requests here: https://github.com/kaltura/moodle_plugin
That is the very best way to contribute seeing how it will also give you proper credit for your work in the changelog.

    Thanks and looking forward,

Hi Jess, are there any plans to continue the v3 api (open source) version of the plugin by a member of the team for Moodle so that the CE version could still be used for free?

    Hi Andrew,

Pardon the delay in response, I managed to miss this one before.
There are no plans to further develop an official Kaltura Moodle plugin that does not rely on the Kaltura Application Framework [KAF].
However, if someone from the community wishes to take ownership on that front, I will be happy to provide support on forum.kaltura.org.

Attempting to install and I am getting this message 'The plugin ZIP package must contain just one directory, named to match the plugin name. The file provided is not a valid plugin ZIP package.' Did I miss something, using Moodle 3.1?
