This theme is based on the UIkit CSS framework version 2.24.3 (http://www.getuikit.com).
It is inspired by bootstrapbase theme and essential theme (https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=theme_essential). A big thank you to the creators of these two themes.
Many features and settings are based on the essential theme, while others are new for this theme, specially the visual style manager.
This theme includes an advanced Visual Style Customizer to change the appearance of the whole site with a few clicks. This customizer is inspired by the UIkit customizer (http://www.getuikit.com/docs/customizer.html)
Notice: these theme is NOT an official UIkit team release.

The front page of this theme is designed for 2 columns only. I will consider adding an optional third column in the future, though.

i love the many customization features and the visual style customizer
just a few very minor things that bother me, but maybe they are fixable with custom css?
- the space between the columns (blocks and main area) cannot be customized. in grid layout, it is a little too wide for my taste
- the custom menus are kind of inconsistent. i would prefer if the top-level items ("my dashboard", "my courses") would not act as a link to "/my/index.php", since people tend to accidentaly click on them
- I would prefer having nested menus pop out to the right on hover, instead of having to click to have them expand under (eg individual courses when the full category view for the "my courses" menu is enabled)
also, it would be great if hover background for nested links was customizable
I want to change the blue color on the marketing spots. I cannot find this option in the Visual Style Manager. Is it possible to change this color? It doesn't go with the color scheme of the rest of my site.
It uses the classes: service, uk-panel, uk-panel-box, uk-panel-box-primary, uk-panel-header
The uk-panel classes should be fairly easy to modify with the Customizer, you may need to add some custom CSS at the bottom to get the look you want for those Classes. It would be nice if the Header could be removed completely.
Cheers.
Makes for a nice clean Homepage.
Cheers.

This must be a bug introduced when I changed the slideshow component in a recent release.
It will be fixed for next version.
Thanks for the report.
I have local instance of Moodle running on my laptop and installed the UIKit theme.
I am experiencing problems on the Visual Style Manager. The refresh button's icon does not stop spinning and the "Save and use styles", "Export LESS" and "Import LESS" buttons remain disabled, so I have no way to commit any changed.
Do I have to activate this Visual Style Manager component somewhere?
I have re-downloaded the Theme just few minutes ago thinking my previous download was perhaps corrupt, but that made no difference.
I would really like to use the UIKit Theme.

Do you think UIKit theme will be compatible with Moodle 3 in the future?
