Instead of giving all users access to your complete S3 account, this plugin makes it
possible to give teachers and managers access to a specific S3 folder (bucket).

Multiple instances are supported, you only have to create a IAM user who has read access
to your S3 root folder, but read and write permissions to your S3 bucket.

Thanks Renaat for sharing this plugin with the Moodle community. I did not have a chance to test the actual functionality of the plugin but the overall coding style is on quite a high level and I did not spot any obvious issues with the code. You are cleared to land, welcome to the Plugins directory!

Hi, this is a very useful plugin and if it were up to me I would replace the core s3 plugin with this one! Would you be able to add S3 Signature V4 support? Currently this plugin does not work for some of the new AWS regions.

    Hi Mikhail,

    THX for your comment!

The amazon-s3-php-class by tpyo is not updated, so the Moodle S3 repository is not updated, so my plugin gets outdated... I planned to rebase my repository on the moodle-local_aws plugin by Catalyst, but this plugin is not (yet) in the plugins-database (available on https://github.com/catalyst/moodle-local_aws). This would ensure signature V4 and new AWS regions support. Should we push Catalyst as a first step?

The plugin can work with url links, as I can transform the URL example www.domain.com/draftfile.php/6/user/draft/974282610/file to www.otherdomain.com/filesvideos/file. I would like it to work also URL plugins.

Currently, Amazon CloudFront URL's are not supported. If you do want support for it, there will be need of a budget...
