A quiz 'report' add-on for Moodle, like the nomal manual grading report, but which lets you grade one student at a time, rather than one question at a time.

This 'report' is actually a tool like the standard Manual grading quiz report, but which lets you grade all the responses by one student, rather than all the responses to one question.

Once the plugin is installed, you can access the functionality by going to 'Reports' -> 'Manual grading by student' in the Quiz administration block.

To avoid confusion, you may wish to use Moodle's http://docs.moodle.org/en/Language_customization to rename the standard 'Manual grading' report to 'Manual grading by question'. The string you are looking for is in the 'quiz_grading.php' component. You need to edit the 'grading' string.

Thanks for sharing this plugin with the Moodle community. The one thing that stood out to me is the confirmation code stuff that seem specific to the OU. Ideally, I would like to see an option to turn using and displaying that code off for non-OU sites. I do not see it as a show stopper but it seems to be something that may cause confusion when used on other sites. I would be interested in any thoughts you may have on this. Otherwise the plugin installs fine although I did not test thoroughly as I did not have a quiz on the test site with manually graded questions. A screenshot and documentation URL would be helpful. Peace - Anthony

I agree it would be better with a way to hide the confirmation code. However, that would take more time. Someone in the forums was asking for an add-on like this, so I pushed what code we had onto github, and made the entry here. Tidying up will have to wait for a suitable opportunity I am afraid.

Tim - No worries about tidying things up. From what I can tell it is a minor cosmetic issue that will simply give folks more information than is needed. I created https://github.com/arborrow/moodle-quiz_gradingstudents/commit/7f5a5632abcda4bc80137b8a212c4de02dc7f628 as POC but did not test it. It is a quick and dirty way that would allow folks to specify the value in their config.php if they did not want to see it. I will go ahead and approve the entry. Peace - Anthony

I've some quizzes with manual grading questions and this plugin seemed an useful one. Unfortunately it has 2 drawbacks:

    1) Filtering by group doesn't work
    2) Students are identified by ID, not by name, which worsen problem #1, as I end up having more than 200 students identified only by a number. Is this intended?

You are right. It is supposed to show the user id in the same way as the normal grading report (which has two capabilities quiz/grading:viewstudentnames and quiz/grading:viewidnumber to give some control). But, it is not implemented like that.

Groups not working is also a bug. sad

Just a note tha this definitely does not work in 2.7 at the moment.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function quiz_questions_in_quiz() in /fs1/www_root/tjh238/moodle_head/mod/quiz/report/gradingstudents/report.php on line 98

I am sure that is fixable when we get time, but I don't know when that will be.

    Hi Tim,
    I have same error...

Fatal error: Call to undefined function quiz_questions_in_quiz() in /home3/betadeve/public_html/learning/mod/quiz/report/gradingstudents/report.php on line 98

I could not solve that problem.

Kindly any one help to me...

There should be a version of this add-on that is compatible with Moodle 2.7 in a few weeks. Until then, there is nothing you can do.
