Remarkable User Experience

Numerous text file formats
Unicheck supports the most popular file formats: docx, doc, dotx, dot, xlsx, xls, csv, pptx, ppt, pdf, htm, html, xml, txt, rtf, odt, ods, odp, Apple Pages, ZIP, RAR, MATLAB files (.m).
Initial file formatting is retained
In plagiarism reports Unicheck keeps document formatting unchanged without transforming tables, graphs, citations, images, etc.
Easy-to-interpret scan results
Each unoriginal passage or sentence is highlighted. Thus, you will quickly find those text parts which need to be worked over by students repeatedly and which need proper referencing.
Similarity sources with spotted duplications
Once a similarity check is performed, you can view a full list of links to the sources where duplications were detected. Similarities are spotted on each original source. This way you will be able to notice even the smallest text fonts fast no matter how many pages the source has.
Similarity reports can be downloaded in .pdf
You can view similarity check results both online and offline. For the latter, you will just need to click the “Download Report” icon. As a result, you will get a .pdf report with links to the sources with spotted text matches. Based on the report, you can easily provide feedback to your students saying what exactly should be corrected.
Checks available in multiple languages
Currently Unicheck can scan for similarities in English, Spanish, German, French, Russian and Ukrainian. Should you need to scan student works in any other language, just let our help desk know and we will make it available for you.
Personal account manager
Every institution with a one/three-year Unicheck software license has a personal account manager. This is the person you can always rely on whatever questions you might have working with the Unicheck plagiarism detection engine.
Custom development
Since Unicheck is a software development company we can develop custom functionality for your university. For this contact our Sales team and inform them about the features or options you might require.
Comprehensive Plagiarism Check
Fast student papers’ checks
The fewer the number of pages in a student work is, the quicker it will be scanned for similarities by Unplag. Generally, you will receive check results right away. It will take from several seconds to a few minutes. Though a file size will influence the check speed, since Unicheck carefully analyzes each text to provide you with accurate results.
Scan against online sources in real time
To deliver precise check results, Unicheck scans against numerous web sources indexed by Yahoo and Bing in real time.
Providing only relevant check results
Scanning online in real time, Unicheck generates only actual check results. Should an online source be removed, blocked or outdated, it won’t appear in the list of sources where Unicheck found similarities.
Thorough text analysis
From now on Unicheck is able to detect even 4-word similarities. If you don’t need to have student papers analyzed so thoroughly, make use of the option available in each instructor’s account: omit the sources with a similarity percentage less than five.
Check against the library
This extra-useful feature allows instructors and account managers to run checks against the entire account library. It includes all the files uploaded by the account manager, instructors and students. Thanks to this you will be able to compare students’ originality rate across different subjects.
Instant and secure connection to your institution database
Check student writings against a vast academic papers database of your educational establishment. All the technical issues will be tackled by the IT specialists of your university together with Unicheck. As a rule, connecting our checker to your database will take from one day to two weeks.
Identifying citations and references
Unicheck automatically spots citations and references in the most commonly used formats: APA, MLA, Harvard, Chicago, and Turabian. All of them are highlighted and can be omitted from the plagiarism search and report. When excluded, similarity percentage is recalculated at once, so that you can receive more precise similarity rate.
Detecting character replacement
To pass a plagiarism check successfully some students may resort to substituting characters by the similar ones from other alphabets. Unicheck can spot these changes and show which letters were replaced and what sources were copied by cheaters.
Fair Policy
Free trial accounts
Unicheck enables educators to try out its plagiarism detection service for free before signing a license agreement or any other service contracts. We give you three weeks of the entire system trial to make your own judgments.
Disabling the “Sharing files” option
Unicheck doesn’t copy or store your files unless you would like to do it voluntarily. To do this, you need to activate the “Sharing files” option in your personal account settings.
Teacher/Department/Campus/Institution scalability
If your entire college or university is not ready to use Unicheck as the official plagiarism detection tool, you are free to start using it within one campus or department. It’s up to you what to choose.
Access to the new functionality by default
Whenever the Unicheck production team upgrades Unicheck functionality, all registered corporate clients will immediately get access to the updated features at no extra cost.
Quiz - Essay question support
The latest version of this plugin provides support for essay questions within the quiz activity, however Moodle doesn’t provide a way for you to view the score/report. To allow the report to be viewed you must add a patch to the core Moodle code-base. More information on this is in the Moodle Tracker: MDL-32226 For a direct link to the patch required see: https://github.com/moodle/moodle/commit/dfe73fadfcf0bae603aa58707e48182a221eea5a

Please advise. Thanks.
The message to familiarize the students always appears. Also when the activity does not have unicheck activated. I think this behavior is not what is expected. If the activity does not have unicheck activated, this message should not appear.
It appears even if the activity does not have the unicheck option activated from the administration.
I've created an issue on your GitHub. (https://github.com/unicheck/moodle-plagiarism_unicheckcorp/issues/103)
