Attention: Issues with video playback with Vimeo for older Video Time versions

  • Video Time uses a library provided by Vimeo (player.js) to playback videos hosted on Vimeo. Recent changes on Vimeo's side cause the following issues if you are using Video Time 1.6 and older:
    • Random videos show up intermittendly instead of the correct video.
    • Sometimes, no video is showing at all.
    • Note that reloading the page fixes the issue in most cases, but another page reload can again produce the issue.
    • The issue seems to spread, so even if you don't have the issue at the moment, we strongly recommend to update your Video Time plugin.
  • Video Time 1.7 is not affected by the issues to our knowledge because it uses Vimeo's latest player (v2.18.0). If you experience any issues, please contact us directly via chat.bdecent.de or send an email to info@bdecent.de
  • For that reason, we have removed any version older than 1.7 from the plugin directory. You can still find them on github though: https://github.com/bdecentgmbh/moodle-mod_videotime/
  • In order to help customers that are still on older Moodle versions, we have decided to add support for Moodle 3.9, 3.10 and 3.11. (originally, it only supported Moodle 4+).
  • If you are using a version of Moodle older than 3.9, please consider upgrading to at least Moodle 3.9 (which is the oldest version of Moodle which is still supported by Moodle).
  • If you cannot upgrade to Moodle 3.9+, and if you have the appropriate knowledge, you can replace the player yourself. The player can be found here: https://github.com/bdecentgmbh/moodle-mod_videotime/blob/master/amd/src/player.js — Please note that we are not able to support this officially, so please only try this if you know what you're doing.
