Question Creation Activity
The Question Creation Activity is a graded activity where students must create questions in the Moodle question bank. A teacher grades the questions.
The students get a grade for the questions they create.
You can specify a percentage of the grade to be automatically assigned depending on how many of the required questions the student creates and the rest of the grade awarded to the student to be dependent on the grade a teacher assigns for the questions created.
It is possible to choose that the activity is 100% automatic grading without any teacher manual grading, or 100% manually graded by teachers.
You can chose the question types students will be allowed to create and the number of questions required to complete the activity.
As part of my 60th birthday celebration I am releasing the first version of the Question creation activity for Moodle 2.7, 2.8 There are a lot of things I still need to do including adding some screenshots to the documentation but as I am using it since september with my students, unless I completely screwed things just before submissions it should be quite stable now.
Happy birthday and thanks for the plugins submissions. I like this plugin and I'll probably have my students use it in near future.
This plugin installed without any problems on both my 2.7 and 2.8 Moodle's. I noticed a few styling errors, mostly whitespaces at end of lines, when I ran through the codechecker plugin. Also it did not function correctly at first, but after reading install notes I ran cron and it seemed to run fine then.
Some of the copyright citations also need to be modified. For example there was no copyright info in export_good_questions_form.php and a few other files.
You'll have to wait for a plugin "approver" to do a more complete review/approval.
Carl
Thanks for the review.
Sorry for the white space errors this must be "last minute changes" as always that introduced these.
Yes the cron issue is a big one and I am afraid I will have a lot of demands for support from people because they won't have a cron running. I tried to mention this prominently in the docs but I don't think this will be enough
Maybe I will try to run codechecker again and correct all the errors I can to have a clean release.
Also if you look at the code you will see I have not finished to rewrite all parts of the module, for instance the teacher view is not done, this is because I think it is quite similar to what Damyon did for grading in the the assign module so my intention is to study Damyon's code before rewriting that part.
WRT usability, I found that the sentence displayed to the student "A teacher has awarded you a grade of 0 / 50 for the questions you have done." may be confusing. It is displayed even in the case when the teacher has not graded the question yet (such as it was just created), so the given grade is actually null/empty, not zero. Students will probably prefer if something like "not graded yet" would be displayed.
Please let me know if you agree to become the component lead for the module component in the tracker (given that Jamie agrees with that).
For now, I am happy to approve this. You are cleared to land, welcome to the Plugins directory!
Question: I would like to suggest some changes/improvements to the language pack - how would you like me to send them to you?
And bon anniversaire
Please, you can create this plugin for Moodle 2.6.3?
I tried to install but it only works in Moodle 2.7
This plugin is fantastic, very good ... I would love to put it on my moodle ...
Thank you for this great idea of making students study and create issues .. it helps a lot in learning.
I am happy to let you know this plugin received the Reviewers' choice award. Well done!
with Moodle 3.0 the student got this permission error:
~~~
Debug info:
Error code: nopermissions
Stack trace: •line 784 of /lib/accesslib.php: required_capability_exception thrown
•line 182 of /question/question.php: call to require_capability()
Any help, please ? It's Question creation 2.02 for Moodle 2.7.
