This Local Filter is Required to properly use the Socialwall Course Format. If your course displays in socialwall format you are able to use a filter called "URL resource filter". This is a new filter that will convert a URL resource type http link that is added and will grab the title and a photo similar to how facebook does from the remote website to display it on the course page. This plugin is needed to store the data generated by the filter (like alternative title for the url and selected photo) in the course backup.

Hi. Thanks for sharing this plugin. As I already mentioned in the review of other plugins in the set, I really think the description must be clearer. It took me a while to realize what this helper is trying to do and why it is doing the way it does. At the end, I agree that using a local plugin for storing the filter's data in the MBZ backup file is an interesting workaround. Clever hack! It seems to me though that the dependency should be declared the other way. It is actually this local plugin that depends on the filter. Not the other way as you have it now. The filter works well without the local plugin, but the local plugin reads from the DB tables provided by the filter. You may eventually want to declare it as a circular dependency so that each of these two plugins depend on the other and both must be installed. Or just explain in the description and the README file that without this local plugin, the course backup file may miss important information.
I am going to mark this as needing more work so that the version.php files in both plugins can be updated.
