This filter converts Easychem structure identifiers between the following delimiters [% %] to images. It utilizes Easychem.js which was developed by Peter Win. If you don't have the patience to learn the Easychem syntax you can go to the EasyChem Substance Reference and search for compounds of interest and copy the identifier. The Chemical Structure and Equation Editor Atto plugin can also be used to easily construct equations and structures.

You may wish to try and include a file like https://docs.moodle.org/dev/NEWMODULE_Documentation#thirdpartylibs.xml to see if it would exclude the external library from our syntax checking.
I've installed the filter, turned it on and added the atto button. The button appears but doesn't bring up the editor window.
