Any time that I try to edit a user, it loads a blank page.  With full debugging on, I get the following error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) in /var/www/moodle/lib/dml/mysqli_native_moodle_database.php on line 1369

The line referenced in the error is related to adjusting the case to lower case.

Weirdly enough the change to the user profile seems to take.  I raised my php memory limit and mysqli buffer but no change...

I went against my own advice (!) and upgraded to latest moodle version (4.5.2).  I rebooted my db server and raised the ram amount on the server.  I cleared caches just because..

Trying to think to what has changed on the site - the main thing I can think of related to user is a new custom profile field.  I went in and limited that to a 10 character entry limit but that didn't affect anything.  It is just a basic text entry.

I am on php 8.1 and mariadb.

Oh, I can edit my own profile without error.  It is just when editing other users' profile.

(Maybe I should have posted in the General forum but I figured I needed help from this group of people!)

Moodle in English -> Themes -> Boost Union Smart Menus

So I am working with smart menus and was wondering if there was a way to have a third level within a menu...so far I have not found it...

I am using Boost Union 4.5-r4 with Moodle 4.5+.

I have tried messing with Submenu and inline settings but can't seem to be able to make one item a heading for other items within the menu...

So on the screenshot below, I want the last two links to be in a submenu called Technology within the Services menu - is that possible?

I was going to post this a while back but thought maybe I was just being overly picky but yesterday another client of mine called me because he could not figure out how to add questions to a quiz from a question bank.  While we were on the phone he went back without any guidance from me and figured it out but the fact that this was not totally intuitive from the get go makes me think that this interface could really use some reworking.

Confusion # 1:  On the quiz page (after creating it), there is a link to question bank.  But you cannot add questions to the quiz from that link.  For those of us who understand how quizzes and the question bank work, this might make sense but to a lot of teachers it does not.  If you access the question bank from the quiz menu, you should easily be able to add questions to the quiz.

Confusion # 2:  The Add Question link takes you to the Questions tab.  The Add button on that page is small and unintuitive that that is what you have to click to add a question.  Why does the Add Question link not take you directly to a selection of what kind of questions you can add?

Confusion # 3:  The Add link has three options - A new question, A question from the question bank, A random question.   The last two options both deal with the question bank - I think it would make more sense to just have Create a new question, Add existing questions as the options in this menu with the second option going to the question bank and then giving an option of whether they want to manually select all the questions or have Moodle randomly select questions from a category.

Confusion # 4:  Overall the question bank interface is still somewhat clunky and people struggle selecting questions and adding to the quiz.  The first time I created a quiz recently (haven't actually had to do that for some time), I also found it unintuitive and it took me a while to figure it out.  Having figured it out once, of course, now I wonder why I struggled but I know that I did and I have now had two different clients report the same thing.

I am just wondering if others experience the same thing - is this worth creating a tracker for?  Is there maybe already a tracker dealing with this? I know Tim has done a lot of work recently on the quiz and question bank (thanks Tim!!) and maybe it is still in progress..
