Jennifer - I just saw another of your posts and wondered if in Course administration>Edit settings you are using the single activity course format which is why you only have one activity? If you go go the Edit settings you can change it to topics format and then you will be able to add more than one activity - a youtube video and a quiz for example.

Are you using the single activity course format? You you say your course is just a URL? If you go to Course administration>Edit settings do you see that you have selected the single activity format and then URL? If so then I would change it to topics format and you can add as many items as you want - URL to video, quiz etc etc.

Are you looking with a genuine (test) student account? You won't see it correctly if you are viewing it as a teacher or even using the 'switch role to student' function.

Thanks for reporting back Paddy  ( I assume you mean "orphaned" rather than "hidden"?) It would be good if you could share some of your methods, ie combination of Excel, Text editor and MySQL queries.
