Well, since no one else has responded yet...There is probably a better way, but if you have access to the database, you can probably do it there. I am just guessing where you would do it in the attached screen capture.
Anyone else want to jump in here?

Exporting to cvs works fine on the demo course (image attached), so I wonder if this is something specific to the version of Moodle you have. If so, is updating to a newer version an option?

Not sure about this, but I think that global search might index Word docs.
Might be worth investigating.
