Hi there,

I hadn't seen Laura's videos before (and I'm such a Mary Cooch fan I really had to force myself to go and have look) but they are great too. (And I'm a nasty picky person who finds 99% of video tutorials are just zilch.)  Just one tiny criticism: 9 minutes seemed long to me - making them more bite-sized would suit my limited attention span.

What tool do you use to create them, Laura? I particularly liked having key points given not only orally but in writing.

Cheers,

Glenys

Hi there,

It seems to me that the solution to this is to set up a parallel Moodle course where all the students have the "Teacher" role and are able to create Quizzes, Wikis, Books etc. If frequent backups are made, messing up by "naughty" students shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I did do this before I discovered Moodle and was using an LMS where "students" could do practically nothing interesting. My adult students did occasionally make mistakes and erase other people's work - but I was always able to restore it.

Cheers,

Glenys

Hi  Mike,

I tried years ago to do that in Moodle 1.9 but found it wasn't really doable without making "students" "teachers" in the course which meant they had access to everything in "files". Are you using Moodle 2? Is it now possible without giving students acces to other things?

I've said before that Book seems to me so much more user-friendly and intuitive for students to use to create collaborative projects than Wikis or Databases. Have you managed to allow collaborative editing? Or is it just each student his own Book?

Cheers,

Glenys
