I went through the whole thread before tossing in my two cents ($US), and came to the conclusion that "teacher page" was a vocabulary question. Plus, I can think of no reason why the first thing a student would want to see is a teacher's profile page. Oh, maybe if it contains a longish introduction & welcome. . .
After logging in, our students & teachers see a page with the label "My Courses." It isn't My Moodle, which is not checked in admin. Our Front page has "combo list" and "front page items when loggedin" is set to "list of courses." That's it.
This setup doesn't stop a user from searching for a course, but it does show them only courses in which they are enrolled, and very few users go looking for anything more.
I'm hoping Sarah will specify what she means by "teacher page."
