Hi Eoin,

That sounds just like what I was looking for but I understand I'd have to install it on my server. I'm not sure my host would be willing to do that but I've download your files and will experiment locally.

Thanks a lot.

Glenys

Hi Andy and everybody,

What I'm hoping your Question Machine can do is to make it easy for students to create quizzes. From a constructivist/contructionist perspective, it's the students who should be doing the work, not the teacher. In a face to face situation, getting students to create quizzes for each other is both fun and pedagogically effective.

I'd love to be able to do the same thing easily online. I mean, students shouldn't have to spend a lot of time on mastering the technicalities of interactive quiz creation. I don't have a live class at the moment to test it on but maybe your Machine could be a solution. Has anybody tried?

Cheers,

Glenys

Bonjour Rikia,

Cheers,

Glenys

Hi Stephen,

I'm afraid we don't have the control over presentation in Moodle that we do in sites we create ourselves - unless you're a real whiz kid with themes and CSS. clin d’œil

To your question: "Do I upload the Hotpot file or the Webpage that is created when I preview the quiz?" Gordon's answer here may be useful: Using the actual hotpot or the generated htm file better?

It seems to me you're trying to create tests whereas Hot Potatoes was originally designed to create learning execises. People in your situation often create their questions in Hot Potatoes (because it's easier) and then import them into the Moodle Quiz which is better designed for testing.

Your queries are by no means stupid - just think of all the people who are too shy to ask but read these forums and benefit from the discussion. clin d’œil

Cheers,

Glenys

Hi Oladapo,

Have you read what it says about installing Moodle on Vista and Windows 7 in the Moodle docs here : http://docs.moodle.org/en/Installing_AMP - scroll down to near the end of the page ?

Cheers,
