There are plenty of reasons for wanting to edit a question (correcting a typo, etc) so I do not want the question edit form to systematically add blank answer fields whenever I edit a question. This makes the edit form - which is already horribly long - even longer.
After all, there is a Blanks for 3 more choices button which I can click if I do need more blank fields.

Hi Roan,
How long/short are the answers you expect to get from those questions? If the SHORTANSWER question type does not work for your needs, and the expected answers are fairly short you might consider using the (3rd-party) REGEXP question type.
Version for moodle 1.9 is OK. Version for moodle 2.0 work in progress.

There are no "text questions" in Moodle. Perhaps you mean "short answer" question?

Sorry, I cannot visualize this. Could you please post a screenshot showing a) what the quiz results page is actually displaying and b) a mockup of what you would like to see instead?
