There are three options when setting up "News events":
Discussions and replies are allowed
No discussions but replies are allowed
No discussions, no replies

The new forum display is great. The "hide" option is also a great feature.
One problem would be that valuable contributions made in other languages would not benifit the community as a whole unless these are also translated to English.
The document opens OK on my computer
