Hi,
I have to install moodle on a LAN having all PC's (except server) run on Windows 98. Can I install moodle 1.9??
I have developed Gujarati Language pack for my Ph.D. research work and I want to use it on windows 98.
I have no idea weather windows 98 support unicode or not.
Please help me to find a solution ,
Regards
Amit

I think that web browsers like Firefox and IE5+ do support Unicode, even if Windows 98 does not itself (I don't remember). That should be sufficient.

It would probably not take long to install a test copy of Moodle 1.9 on your server, then you could experiment.

The other option would be to use one of the Windows 98 computers to browse some of the "moodle in other languages" courses: http://moodle.org/course/category.php?id=3. That would quickly give you an idea if it works.

Hi Tim,
Thanx for your reply.
Today I found a PC running on windows 98 and checked my site (http://amit.dietbvn.org).
The english interface looked ok, but when I select Gujarati, Neither the interface nor the content was readable, only [] in IE and ??? in firefox was apeared.

The PC has IE 6 and Firefox 1.o .

One faculty member of local Computer college, suggested to install Arial Unicode MS font (ARIALUNI.TTF), I will try to get the font online and check it as early as possible.

Do you have any other idea??
