I'm experimenting with the Parent role and Mentee block, with not an awful lot of success.
I've set up a Parent role and created two test accounts (one pupil, one parent). Using Admin i've assigned Parent to Pupil, but the Mentee block doesn't seem to mirror the rest of the site. When going to Assign Role on the Mentee block there are only 4 available Roles, and not the Parent role which I created.
Also, when loggin on as the 'Parent' it doesn't seem to let me see any of the information on the Pupil that they are supposed to be Parent of.
Any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

You must log on Admin and enter in Users->Permission->Define Roles. On top, You have "Allow role assignments". Without this, Moodle has no way of knowing who should be able to assignment whom.

The parent role should be assigned in the user context only i.e. via the child's profile page. There is no need to assign a role for the mentees block. Please see docs.moodle.org/en/Parent_role for set-up instructions.
