Formatting in multichoice boxes

I am incorporating multichoice questions into a cloze question. Some of the choices include the squared symbol. Is there a way of getting formatting such as superscript (or algebraic notation) to appear in the list of possible answers?

I've only been using the quizzes for a short time ( a couple of months) so I'm not a pro, but for multichoice quizzes I have been copying and pasting from the symbol chart for the question box, and that has been working for me. There may be a better way that I have not discovered, but this does work.
