Problem with Hungarian Characters

Problem with Hungarian Characters

Hi all,
I'm currently developing a series of SCORM learning resources in Hungarian and I'm having difficulties with the display of some characters in the contents menus of the Scorm packages. The problems lie with the display of accented 'O' and 'U' characters, which are being replaced in the contents menu of the SCORM package with a question mark. These characters seem to appear correctly in the individual pages of the learning resource, but not in the contents menu.

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on why this might be happening?

Thanks in advance,
Kathy

I had the same problem with moodle 1.7 using mysql and apache2. There was definitely problem with mysql setup (see install.php for character-set-* strings), because I got the same problem with ordinary mysql client. After two days debugging (mixing various settings of character-set-* variables in mysql database), I tried to upgrade to 1.8, it helped.
