I have donwloaded the last version of moodle and xampp. When i try to configure it i got this message:
How can i update it ? why the lastest version of moodle doesnt have the require mariadb version?
Im using windows.

Dear S4atter, IMHO you misunderstood the error: your system lacks the required MariaDB version needed by Moodle, not the other.
You should update your MariaDB Server BEFORE doing the install/upgrade, but on how to do it, ask Xampp forums...

Hi Sergio Rabellino, I have a question. Because I have a similar problem. My DB has MariaDB 10.5.23 installed and moodle requires the 10.6.7 version.
I don't want to update my DB due to personal preference.
Is it possible to force the install of moodle despite the lack of appropriate software? For example by editing the moodle install files?

Dear Sean,
obviously you can modify your php moodle code to bypass the requirements, but I have to trust what the Moodle HQ defined as "requirements". A requirement is not a suggestion, so if you change the xml with the requirements definitions (search on these forums how to do that, I wouldn't say more, as it's not a best practice) I expect some pieces of Moodle won't work right.
Please don't get back here with errors/problems if the requirements are not completely satisfied... 
We have to start from a well-grounded point (the defined requirements for each Moodle version/release), or it will be infeasible to understand if there is a bug, or anything else.

Yeah im expecting some errors if I do force the install.

Moodle 4.1 LTS needs MariaDB 10.4 only and still gets security updates: https://moodledev.io/general/releases/4.1.

I saw that will see what will happen once I force the install.
If I wont be happy with the results I will opt for Moodle 4.1
