Files size is larger than the limited size in moodledata/filedir folder!

Hi,

I have a CentOS 7 server for Moodle LMS under LEMP environment. I have found that in one of LMSes there are hundred of large files in folders in filedir. But the file upload size is limited to 64MB. For example:

The LMS admin cannot find any large files in the trash bin or course backups. What could be the issue? Is there a way to find and remove those files?

They are probably backups made by teachers which get stored in filedir but tagged in DB under private files of the teacher ... which admin cannot see.

This one:

3.5G 2021-10-11 18:12 /temp/backup/75fb693a8a8fc7a3bef010a5d94a455f/backup.mbz

is a failed backup ... last step is to *copy* to moodledata/filedir/xx/yy/ and it appears your server could not.

That one can be manually removed.

For all others, suggest installing a report - all backups
https://moodle.org/plugins/report_allbackups/versions
Be sure to get version that is compatible with your Moodle version (which you did not mention).

Dear Ken,

Thanks a lot for your detailed information. I'll check on this. BTW the Moodle version is 3.8.1+ (Build: 20200221). I forgotten to mention.
