Hello everybody,

Having in Moodle a video player side transcript that would be autoscrolling ald clickable, that would be great.

In fact, about 6 years ago, a user was already asking for that here:

As he already mentioned, this became very common in courses on EDX: when there is a video with some teacher talking, a transcript of what is telling is automatically scrolling on th side of the screen, and it is possible to stop the autoscrolling and click on a sentence to jump to the corresponding moment in the video.

This is also possible on some streaming platform like Microsoft Stream and Youtube, it seems.

I think it is just a little JavaScript trick, as for example illustrated on this web site: https://jsbin.com/bevehi/edit?html,css,js,output

I am not a specialist and I can't make it work when I try the same code in a file resource, using a video and VTT that are stored in Moodle.

Well, what is important here is that t would be nice to have it when we use a page resource and when we integrate the video player: having an option 'scrolling and clickable transcript on the side' would be great.

All the best,

Thierry.
