SEB - Won't play video located on separate site

Anybody have success getting SEB to show videos that are located on separate domain?

The "filter" feature (in the network tab) seems like it should do the trick, but it doesn't. Take a look at this screenshot:

The filter setting allows the video player to show in the quiz, but the video itself will not play.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Fernando

As it turns out, this is not a problem related to the location of the media file itself, but about the proprietorship of the codec that is used to play the file. SEB only supports open source codecs, which I guess excludes the (popular) H.264 format.

That said, there's an open source version of H.264 that is provided by Cisco, so not sure why it wouldn't be in SEB: .

To make things more strange, this problem doesn't exist on MacOS and IOS, since Apple provides the codec in their operating system.

You can catch my conversation with the SEB folks here: https://sourceforge.net/p/seb/support-requests/115/

I'm out of my depth here, so it's possible there's a simple workaround that I'm missing. Feel free to post a suggestion.

Thanks for sharing this - it was really helpful. One of our instructors had used M4A files on a quiz which loaded fine in Moodle proper, but not through SEB. Once we converted them to MP3, the issue resolved itself.
