Apologies if this is not the correct forum for this error.
A recent update or change has caused thousands of TeX code lines to break. For historical reasons, I have used the \fs{3} function to fix the font size in my mathematical based questions to display equations. Recently, they have started to break and display as:
rather than display correct as it has been doing for years.
I cannot fathom what has gone wrong as it has only affected certain variants of questions. Some questions have the vast majority of the variants broken, others are the opposite.
IE, Chrome and Safari both display these errors at our institute, but I do not see them working from home using Chrome. An earlier version of IE on a different network shows them as all broken.
Is this simply an update to our web explorers?
I do not have administrator rights, but have been an admin in a previous life. Font size codes \tiny \small \large \LARGE etc. have no effect on font size displayed through these web browsers either if that sheds some light on the issue.
