I've just done my first install of Moodle 3.9 and the notifications is suggesting cron runs every minute?
That's a hell of a lot of processing on a server; especially if this is hosted on a shared server. Is 1minute essential?
Cheers
Dave
Dave it isn't essential, you can set to run hourly.
Running cron that often wont put load on server as it will finish in less than a second, BUT you have to ask your hosting provider as some do limit running of CRON, limiting it to hourly or twice hourly, just ask them first and whatever limit they have, use that.
Run it every minute as suggested.
Moodle has a built in scheduler so it doesn't impose as large a load as you might think. There's a load of stuff done in the background now so things like completion and deletion will appear very sluggish if you run it less often.
