Mozilla has sent an email out today saying that they are retiring their Open Badges Backpack platform and helping users move their badges to Badgr.

Mozilla will shutdown the Backpack platform by August 22, 2019. You can read more about the change here.

Thanks Jon, Badgr is now the active external backpack on moodle.org.

For details of how to change to using Badgr on your Moodle 3.7 site, please see the section 'Enabling Badgr as the active external backpack' in the documentation Badges settings. Until this change is made, users won't be able to connect to their backpack or display badges from their backpack in their profile.

For 3.6 sites, users will be able to send their badges to Badgr.io automatically (no change is needed). However, any badges in a user's Open Badges backpack will no longer be displayed in their profile.
