Hi all,

Completely new to Moodle, and trying to install Moodle 3.7.1 (build 20190712) onto an 1&1 IONOS account.  I downloaded the file and uploaded this to my root on the 1&1 Account.

On running the installer, it errors that :-

Parent directory (/homepages/16/d778444660) is not writeable. Data directory (/homepages/16/d778444660/moodledata) cannot be created by the installer.

I've attached what my root looks like and also the error I am getting but not able to get past this...

Am I missing something?

Are you sure your moodledata directory is where you think it is? FileZilla isn't showing the complete remote path but on your install 'moodle' is under 'htdocs' and 'moodledata' is a directory above. On FileZilla they are both shown at the same level. If that's the correct location for moodledata then I would expect to see an 'htdocs' directory in the same place.
