We are upgrading from 3.2 to 3.5 this summer and have run into a peculiar login problem.
We use ADFS to login via the Shibboleth plugin. We use an ‘Alternate login URL’ (set under /admin/settings.php?section=manageauths) so that when visitors hit the home page they are automatically redirected to the Shiboleth authentication page.
We use this functionality in conjunction with guest access enabled – if people knew the URL of a course that allows guest access, they can link straight to it, effectively bypassing the login page.
Since upgrading to 3.5 the redirect to our ADFS/Shibboleth login page no longer works. The only way we can get it to work is if we disable guest access, but some courses still want to use guest access.
Has anyone else encountered this and/or found a solution?
