I am an administrator of several Moodle platforms in versions 3.1.6. These platforms are used by many teachers and many more students. Since a few days ago, we are having disk space problems. There are many courses, with many contents. But what really worries me are the backups that teachers have been doing for several years, and this is where I want to start cleaning the Moodle platform to gain disk space. I have made several queries on the mdl_files table where I can see how many backups the teachers have made, the creation date and the space it occupies on disk. My question is, is there any method to automatically delete backups without having to enter each of the users and do so directly from the user's private area? There are many teachers and it would be a very tedious job to enter the account of each of these teachers and delete "manually" the backup copies of, for example, more than 1 year ago, keeping only the backup copies of the year 2018.
